St. Joseph’s Convent International School is a Catholic educational institution conducted by the Religious of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross.
The name of the Managing Body of the school is St. Joseph’s Education and Medical Relief Society. The School falls within the religious jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Bombay.
Admission is open to girls of all castes and creeds. Value Education forms an important part of the school curriculum.
Post-independence, St. Joseph’s switched to the ICSE program and, a few years later, the school opted to offer only the State Board program. In 2016, based on the feedback from the Alumni, requests from parents, and under the guidance of the Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE), St. Joseph’s decided to offer an international education for students.
The school is certified by Cambridge and is registered as a Cambridge International school. The school has been given a UDISE Number by the State Department of Education and approvals are in place to conduct classes from Grade 1 to 12. Currently, the school offers Cambridge Primary Grade 1 to 5.
Cambridge qualifications are widely recognised by universities and employers. Cambridge students can be confident that their qualifications will be understood and valued throughout their education and career, in India and internationally.
Our Motto
“Forward God Helping”
Even though St. Joseph never spoke a word in scripture, his silent example of obedient faithfulness and diligent care for the Holy Family during Jesus' formative years has made him one of the most beloved saints of Christianity.
Although he came from King David's noble lineage, St. Joseph lived a life of great humanity and devotion to his Holy Family as a carpenter.
Matthew's gospel describes him as a "just man" (1:19). He is the patron saint of the Universal Church, and people invoke his aid for workers, families, home buyers and sellers, and the grace of a happy death, among the other things.
The feast of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Confessor of the Faith, is celebrated each year on March 19th
Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted His only Son;
In you Mary placed her trust;
With you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father
And guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage,
And defend us from every evil. Amen.
Joseph, pure spouse of that immortal bride,
Who shines in ever virgin glory bright,
Through all the Christian climes thy praise be sung
Through all the realms of light
Thee Patron of this most dear school we pray
Look on each child of ours as long ago
Thou didst regard the little Son of Mary,
With guidance and true love
The theme for this academic year is INSPIRING DREAMERS: If you can dream it, you
can do it!
There is nothing that a child cannot do or achieve if we do not instil fear, limit, or place
restrictions on them. Their dreams are as much about the present as the future. Children are
setting records, creating life-saving innovations, founding non-profit organizations, and
raising money for important causes - all before reaching legal age. The future's looking
bright with these children leading the way.
It is up to us as parents, teachers, and mentors to nurture and encourage these dreams - They
are both fragile and precious and must be treated with the utmost respect. A child who is
constantly told, “You cannot do this”, will become an adult who will not have the confidence
to even try.
We encourage you to share stories about inspiring children and adults, in our country and
across the world, with your children on a regular basis, so that they too may look at the world
around them with compassion and curiosity and be inspired to dream.
The school is divided into four houses – Courage, Peace, Unity and Honour. The house system encourages the students to participate in school activities and maintain discipline to earn points for their house.
